Convinced Simoncelli Kian Near Prime Podium
Despite the poor results achieved in the last two races, Marco Simoncelli showed rapid development in both the MotoGP season. The Italian is convinced him closer to podim premiere.
Simoncelli's debut season was not exactly ugly. The Gresini Honda rider finished eight grades the final standings with 125 points, 18 times the results of races without a podium.
Results slick enough that frizzy-haired racer picked in MotoGP Qatar 2011 and finished fifth. Simoncelli then appear surprising in the next two races though in the end he was forced to retired.
In the Spanish MotoGP, Simoncelli competed fiercely in the vanguard with several racers. He also had led the race on lap 10 but not long after he fell during cornering and the incident had made him out and go home without numbers.
Simoncelli pretty neat appearance in Portugal with a dominating MotoGP free practice session. The 24-year racer was a big chance for a victory after starting in second.
But the fortune away from Simoncelli when racing. Former 250cc world champion race was even dropped on the first lap and could not continue the race. He had to bite the finger for not getting value.
MotoGP now in its fourth series, held at the circuit of Le Mans, France on Sunday (15/05/2011). Simoncelli believe he is able to achieve that first podium.
"For now we are working on a very good way. I'm growing since early this year, also by setting the motor," said he told MCN.
"I must learn from mistakes and make sure I'm not going to repeat it again," said Simoncelli.
Simoncelli is now scattered in the order of 13 of the standings with 11 points value. He closed to within 54 points from Jorge Lorenzo who became peak.
Is Simoncelli won his first podium at Le Mans? We'll wait.
